Grants

MSEA grants support groundbreaking work in classrooms and communities across Maryland.

MSEA will support the efforts by individual members or local associations for activities/events in support of the Black Lives Matter at School movement by providing financial assistance through 10 total grants in the amount of $1000 each. MSEA will also support local affiliates and members with expenses related to programs, service, or activities planned to promote human and civil rights and social justice by providing up to 10 total grants in the amount of $1000 per local affiliate or individual member. MINORITY LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM

The Minority Leadership Training Program (MLTP) prepares early career educators and emerging leaders to be powerful advocates for their students, their profession, and their local, state, and national unions. Member leaders are expected to participate in every component of the program. The commitment includes attendance at the MLTP virtual or face-to-face trainings held three times during the school year.

WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM

The Women’s Leadership Training Program is a year-long, cohort-based learning and development journey that supports educators as they gain understanding and experience in leadership and grow as leaders and activists in their local, state, and national associations. Training requires attendance to three virtual or in-person trainings and continuous program engagement throughout the year.

MLTP/WLTP COHORT MEMBER RECOMMENDATION

One of the primary methods used to identify future cohort members is the personal recommendation of program alumni, state and local leaders, other Association members, and MSEA staff. Please share the names and contact information of MSEA members (certificated, non-certificated, administrative, and higher ed) who you believe will greatly benefit from participating in this leadership development program. We will reference you directly when making contact with the recommended member.
